Have our Government now talked themselves out of a transitional period? Theresa May insisting there will be no customs union agreement means a hard border in Ireland is inevitable plus the UK refusing to guarantee EU citizens rights has rightly angered the EU. EU negotiator also says UK leaving single market and customs union means Irish border checks are "unavoidable".
