Long but interesting post about depression which suggests that depression has cultural causes to do with capitalism and the nature of work.

Just reading Feral by Monbiot and there are some amazing quotes from American colonists about their people who were 'kidnapped' by indigenous people - even when they were rescued/ransomed they wanted to leave colonial society and return to the indigenous life. Does this say something about white western culture and has it been a problem for centuries?
