Another unnecessary restriction on British sovereignty.

Just as we were thinking that the emergency foreign aid to British territories in the Caribbean after hurricane Irma, was at least one useful use of foreign aid.....

It turns out we are not supposed to use the British foreign aid budget to help British territories in the Caribbean.

MPs said it was ludicrous that rules of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) stop money from the foreign aid budget going to Anguilla, the British Virgin Islands and the Turks and Caicos Islands.

No doubt the government is using another budget, probably defence. But supposing it did not ? Were we to leave them to their own devices after a tragedy, because of an OECD rule ?
