I can't think of much that could be more damaging to the incredibly important argument against online abuse than people moral high-horsing one minute, then giving free publicity to the most disgusting extreme-right Twitter trolls accounts the next.

Theresa May was allowed to get away with her love-in with an extreme-right Twitter troll last September, and now Yvette Cooper has bounced straight from criticising online abuse one moment to handing free publicity to one of the most disgusting sockpuppet accounts on Twitter the next.

The political establishment club really need to get their own houses in order if they want us to take them seriously when they complain about the problem of online abuse.
